Somebody please let me know if it is must to get all the instruments listed because most of us I guess will agree that we are not going to use them all. So,do they see the instruments you are having .ALso, can we get some other handpiece instead of the one listed. Please if someone can throw some light on this 😕 .I hope thats not the case:luck:

Well, well, well
First of all, time is passing very fast, last year I was there.
They asked to prepare a bridge preparation :3/4 onlay preparation to tooth number 30 and pfm 28 and a MO preparation tooth 19.
I did a great job, and I got rejected actually not rejected ,Ia m still in waiting list 🙄. Well, I do not want to speculate anything but I think you need to someone to get in USC.If you really want to get in this program you would better not to forget some lobbying...
The funny part is they are very polite, instead of sending a rejection letter, they sent a letter stating that "you are in waiting list"
Whatever!!!!!
Anyways if you are not good at preparing a tooth, do not even think to spend a lot of money....
I ordered every single material from their library for almost $2500.A luck happened, I borrowed hand pieces from a dentist, I used them I didn’t opened the staff and I returned them when I am done with the practical test in LA.They refund my money 😎
Interview part is an other funny thing. They take 11 dentists in a room and they want from you to discuss a stupid sceneryo with each other
:hardy: evrybody tried to be smart and cute whille discussing,it was so funny,
It is ridicioulus, but you gotto do what you gotto do...😡
But I have some good news🙂
City of LA😍
I didn’t like the USC but I love this city.(make sure to talk some former USC student experiences, If I talked somebody ,I would not go there, especially about the the way they teaching and patient circulation ,cost of living, tuiton, etc…)
I drove around two days, I walked near the ocean, and I am glad I went to this city and see it once in my life. I am glad I was not accepted...yayyyy, I am happier now.😍😍😍

great experience demoral, would u please help me with pacific interview exam if u attended it before, what kind of preps do they usually make us do?

Hi n73,
uop guys gave me a call,i think in the middle of may 2007 ,they ask me some meaningless question about my transcript and graduation date, and then they send me an invitation,I prefered usc ,because it is more reputaple??????!!!!!!!! than uop!😕(whatever:hardy:)
after usc experience ,i talked to some uop gradutes, and candidates,it did not sound good to me ,i did not go there and didnot waste couple thousand dollars more for that interview.(I am very good at preparing teeth,i have 12 years experience).
anyways,
but i mentioned before in california schools ,you gotto know somebody...
i strongly recommend to ftds who want to get their licence in us,just try other schools first,ca schools are dream schools but i think ,its only a hoax!!!!basically money trapping....
first of all very expensiveeee to live and very expensive to pay...
again
if you do not know anybody,or in an other words,if they do not know you,and if you are not good at preparing a teeth DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEYYYYYY

Thats all I can say
peace..................and good luck 😍😍😍😍😍

Hi and thanks for your input. Could you please share with us the scenario that they asked you in the group interview. Also, is there an individual interview after that?

where are guys ?? isnt there any male planning for accomodation........why only females ....hello boys wake up and plan for accomodation ............is someone there ???

Hi drmoral,

first of all thanks a lot for ur inputs. it certainly helps ppl prepare for the interview. can u share which other interviews did u attend and where did u get accepted?

does it help if someone from ur family attended USC in recent past?

thanks...God Bless You.

Hi and thanks for your input. Could you please share with us the scenario that they asked you in the group interview. Also, is there an individual interview after that?
1-there is no individual interview
2-interviewers were not dentists(what a shame)🙁
3-They will give you an orange paper which has the first part of the scenerio,i do not put the all case scenerio word to word here ,but the subject was like that:
"a man went to a dinner, after the dinner he turned his home, and experience stomach ache and diarrhea, what would be the reason for this?"
everybody start to discuss it ,(well i felt like insulted)😡
anyways
after15 min discussion,
they give out another color paper whish says"man ate something in his home before going the dinner which had been expired already"
discussion 15 min
and another paper
so on and so fort...
it is stupid I know...
but thats the way they treat you over there...
good luck
😍😍😍
peace.........

they donot have any interview.... they have PBL

which means Please Be Loud.....!!!
i think USC is the only school which does not have classroom teaching

It looks like some people are posting bad info.

Whoever thinks its needed to know someone to get into USC... they are wrong. I did not know anybody, nor did most of my classmates. Those that knew anyone generally knew a student, not an instructor. No instructor is going to risk their job helping someone illegally when there are multiple courses that offer practice sessions for FTD interviews.

Classroom instruction. That is incorrect. There is classroom instruction. We have a PBL based system, but that may be going away soon.

The interview depends heavily on your clinical test, which is evaluated by the dental staff. There is a PBL-type evaluation evaluated by non-dentists, but nobody knows how much it is weighted, if at all.

For FTD's, the cost of USC is not much different than other schools. In fact, it may be a little less. Most 2-year FTD programs charge alot.

Clinically, USC is a great school. If you want to practice general dentistry, you will be happy. You will look back and know why its a good idea to go to school in the U.S.

Dont be discouraged about your NDB scores. There were some low scoring people that did extremely well on the clinical exam and vice versa. They are pretty good about getting the results back quickly. Last year, I think they told people around the 10th of Nov I think.

Get your typodont equilibrated.

Talk to a local dental supply rep. You may be able to rent a set of loaner instruments for the test. A lot of supply reps will be eager to work with future clients.

Good luck to everyone on the interview! See you in April.
