I know it's a little early in the game, but anyone apply yet and/or gotten in for next year? Got my app in a couple weeks ago. Now just playing the waiting game! I know there have been tons of threads on the program, debating it as an SMP, but I'm not really looking at it as such. I am just mildly obsessed with global health.

I talked to them on the phone and they were really helpful. Still waiting to get some rec letters in and stuff so I guess the clock isn't ticking yet.

GOOD LUCK!!! I got my decision exactly when they said I would, so I think they are pretty good with timing. Yeah it's been awesome talking with them. I haven't sent in my intent to enroll yet, but I'm pretty sure I will be this week. Just keep in touch with them. It definitely helps.

Applied back in January and got my acceptance a few weeks ago! Woohooooo! Going to an interview at UCSF this week but definitely really considering this program as well 🙂

Hi there! Just curious, does anyone happen to know if there is any "guarantees" if one's in this program? Like guaranteed interview to the medical school, etc? I've read some stats saying that a large percentage is accepted into medical schools, but is that directly after this program ends, or applying the June after the program ends?

I just sent in my intent. Do you guys have housing arrangements already? I need recommendations, I've lived in Orange County all my life so I have no idea where to look.

No guarantees. Most people who do the program are pre-dental/pre-med but it is not a remedial program. As far as the percentage of students who get in to med school, I'm sure it's partly because doing well in the program opens doors but also people who get in already have good stats and know how to study, so in that sense I don't think it really matters whether you apply right after or a year later. The first semester is taken with the medical students, and from what I have heard it is not easy. But most importantly, only do it if you are really interested in global medicine.

Hey congrats! I just found a place next to the main campus. It's about 10 min from the health sciences campus (20 with traffic) but I wanted to be a little closer to the beach and the west side. So I would recommend a place there as long as it is south of West Adams or somewhere in Downtown, or Silver Lake/Los Feliz is really great too. PM me if you want to ask more about it!

Hi Guys! Can anyone provide any feedback on their experience in this program so far?

I'm looking to apply to med school this June but wanted to apply and do this program for my gap year (my gpa and mcat are pretty solid) since i'm looking to add a competitive edge to my application and I am genuinely interested in global health (and I would love to stay in CA for med school if this has any official/unofficial ties to CA schools)
