This is on USC's secondary:

Please describe your participation in any activities that have benefited a disadvantaged and/or undeserved population.

Are the elderly considered an "underserved" population? I love working with the elderly and have had various jobs (volunteering and paid) with the elderly.

BTW, In case you haven't received the secondary, email me and I will send you a copy of the questions.

I wouldn't say underserved, but maybe disadvantaged if it was in a care facility.

Do you believe the elderly are an underserved community? If so, make your case--with some evidence--and discuss it. Write well, with feeling, not in stiff, formal prose. A case can be made for the elderly and it will be your job to make the case using a limited amount of space. Cut the fat out and give the meat of your argument backed up with specific examples or reasons.

OF COURSE the elderly are an underserved and disadvantaged population. Geeze. Ethnic minorities aren't the only ones.

It's not so bad, considering they only allow you 250 words per essay.
Here's a hint, if you are over the count, try to go back and look for possible things you can hyphenate!

I had the same problem and called them. I expected that they would tell me to go away, but I actually really enjoyed talking to them They even called me back to see how it was going. It turns out if you completed close to 250 words on all essays you get the error message. Just try again tommorrow and the problem should be fixed.

So now I can't even get into the USC secondary. It says they're down for maintainance or something. Is anybody else getting this?

Yes, I received an email from SC stating the secondary would be back up this afternoon. Maybe it is up now, I haven't tried yet...

Now my question is: what if you've already described in detail on your AMCAS post-secondary experiences section AND in your personal statement "activities that have benefitted a disadvantaged and/or underserved population"?
Are you just supposed to go over it all again?
