hey everyone! for those who know about or attend USC, is there a lot of traffic to and from the school? i live in san diego, so do you all think that i would have trouble in traffic going home on some weekends?

by the way, heres something random. if any of u watch court tv, u probably caught "north mission road" sometimes which is just like "forensic files". so usc is near north mission road where the l.a. county coroner examines dead bodies to solve murder cases! im sure those of u attending or live near already know of the road... just wanted to point it out. i love court tv!

Going home on weekends shouldnt be a problem, as long as you're able to leave either early Friday, or Friday night. You'd be stuck in traffic if you leave anytime between 2-6pm. Or you could just leave Saturday morning.

I had no idea the coroner's office was that close to the school until I was on my way to get some food one day and actually read the sign for the building. Weird how you don't notice things like that until you're a passenger in someone else's car.

Hope that helps some. =)

thanks uscpharm! how about daily traffic? how bad is that?

hihi.. i used to go to ucsd and live in monterey park...and my parents used to come into SD to pick me up from school after work or sometimes late at night... so all i know is there's always traffic on the 5 fwy between 1pm - 7pm (more or less depending on if there's an accident) but keep in mind, first years probably won't get out of class till 3pm on friday's ... so u might plan on leaving late at night (pass rush hour, which might mean after dinner)

traffic to school.. depending on where you want to live! alhambra people usually take valley all the way to mission so they can avoid the 10fwy

i live in monterey park... so i take garvey all the way to cal state LA and enter the fwy there (there's no traffic on 10 fwy after the 710) and exit Soto or State. I usually get to school between 15-20 minutes (which isn't bad)

if you live near the 60 fwy, you can take caesar chavez all the way until it hits soto or mission - which takes approx 25 min from where i live (i tried multiple paths to school during my first 2 weeks)

and alt route is to take 60fwy to 710 fwy to 10 fwy and exit soto (but there's heavy traffic on the 710 in the morning) so it'll take approx 25-30 min or so (from Monterey Park)

Try to live as close to the West as possible. In the morning, East to West traffic is gonna kill your spirit (which will be what I'm going to do). When you get off class in the first year, however, shouldn't be a big deal, since West to East traffic should be acceptable, but it does get nasty after 3.

I go to UCSD right now, and I think so as long you don't hit the road on Fridays 3-7p you should be fine. Otherwise, 60/Irvine/Carlsbad traffic will eat you alive.
