So, I recently was accepted to all three of these schools. And well I figured that USC with its higher research ranking would be the all around best school. I grew up in the LA area so staying close to home is nice but by no means necessary. The problem I am having is that when I looked at the match lists of these three schools it looked as if MCW and Temples were just stronger overall in the specialties I am interested in. And sadly USC will be the most expensive eventhough I ll be an hour from home. Trying to weigh these schools objectively with and without family considerations is starting to get to me. Anyone have any input on these schools that I could consider? I am getting more indecisive by the day.

I guess I really would like input on USC, people are making it out to be less than stellar.

Maybe it would help if you asked more specific questions about the schools in question. Have you considered a revisit? When dealing with similar ranked schools it all comes down to location and how you feel there, the other students and general impression you get. Also, if you want to stay in Cali I would think SC will be a better choice.

In my humble opinion (which is based solely on opinion and no fact, as I too, have not yet begun medical school), you should base your decision on where you think you'll do best. The history of your predecessors matching into good/bad residencies is a very vague indicator of where YOU will end up-- if you go to any one of these schools and do well there, you'll be fine as far as matching is concerned.

Do you have any second look weekends to these schools? That may help aid in your decision.

Yeah, I am going to revist Temple and SC over spring break 2-3 weeks from now. I think it may be apprehension just getting to me.

Match lists are hard to understand, because you don't know who applied and where. I wouldn't put too much weight on those, but they can be helpful. It looks like I'll be at MCW, but if I were in your shoes, I'd be leaning towards USC (close to home). Plus, there's quite the weather difference between Cali and Wisconsin (it's supposed to snow tonight). That said, I always hear good things about MCW from their students.
