First of all - I wouldn't trust board scores; they never come from a reliable source.
Second, go to UCI. USC is wayyyyy too expensive for what it gives you (90K/year) vs UCI (60K/year). The 120K+interest that you'll owe after graduation is not worth what USC offers. UCI is a perfectly fine institution, and the amount of research going on there is plenty. USC gets more NIH funding and what not, but it's not like UCI doesn't pump out a lot of research itself.
Also, LA is over-hyped, and the traffic really ruins your ability to mobilize around the city to enjoy all the great things that it has to offer. At UCI, you won't have to deal with those inconveniences, which is nice when you don't want to sit in traffic for an hour to go to a grocery store on a weekend as med student.
