Thanks for the info, how do you think you did?

I think I did well. USC's reasoning for not having the typical 1 on 1 interviews was that their intention for the interview process was to see whether the candidates are capable of interacting in a PBL-type setting. Basically, it seemed that they were most concerned with figuring out if you are someone that can work successfully in a group (ie. communicate well, brainstorm well, collaborate well, etc). With that said, if you find yourself to be someone that feels somewhat intimidated and/or shy when working with a group of people and that affects how likely/actively you participate, you should definitely work on public speaking in any way that you can. I see working in groups and speaking in public as a strength of mine so I'm hoping I sufficiently conveyed that in my interview. Thanks for asking, prsndawg!

I wonder how that works out ... Are't people trying to show off and talk more in that situation and try to dominate the disscussions !!

It would be a fun experience for sure.

Got notified for an interview today via email and they gave me a list of days to interview on.

Did anyone get an interview without having 2 recommendation letter from lecture-based science professors? I have 2 lab-based and 1 lecture-based...i'm worried that it might not meet their requirements...🙁

I'm almost positive my committee letter hasn't even been sent out yet and somehow already got offered an interview last week... confused but very happy!

Also, if anyone who's had previous experience with them before has any tips, advice, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I just want to know when they send out interview invites, or if anyone's heard back from them yet?

Thank you!
I got my interview invitation mid last week. Interview is on Nov 3rd.

I have seen another person in predent with Interview for Nov 11. Anyone with any later date than Nov 11 for USC ??

It seems like the pre-Dec dates for USC are almost all taken or will be done by end of this week.

on my invitation email, nov 11 was the last interview date that i could choose from and i got my invitation late september, so im thinking that november 11 is the last date before Dec 1 admissions?? i took my DAT late august so they probably reviewed my app later than most people with pre-december interviews. this can mean that i am one of the last applicants to get an early interview. just a guess though.

So basically all pre-Dec interviews are full?

Kinda bummed....

After the interview they said they were going to send a letter asking us if we were still interested and to send it back. Has anyone received this yet? Thanks

Anyways i rly liked it at usc and la. The financial aid talk was hilarious.

I heard the same thing and I haven't received the package yet, either. I'm sure we just need to be a bit more patient.

me too, where do you plan on staying ?

Awesome! I'm gonna be staying at the Vagabond Inn, then some of my friends that live out there are picking me up after the interview and I'm gonna be staying with them for about 5ish days. What about you?

I stayed at the vagabond in when i had my interview last week...it was kind of shady lol so be forewarned. The sheets/pillow were so uncomfortable blah get what you pay for. 🙄

yay.......oh well, it's only for one night. and it's not too spendy. I'm a really light sleeper so I doubt I'd get much sleep anywhere honestly.

how much did you pay? I stayed at America's Best Value inn for 65$/night.

Do we just fill out that secondary app and bring it with us to the interview? Or should we send it in ahead of time?
Anyone know for certain?

That's where I stayed at. Not the best, but its fine for one night. Very convenient to walk to the campus though.

Sounds good! I won't have anything to do the night before since there's really no preparing you can do for the pbl group interview thing. I'll pm you

I wrote both. Tried to work in some academic stuff as I doubt they just want to read about nutrition, weight lifting and surfing haha.

I got an interview to USC on 10/28. This is going to be my first interview!! Im excited. Anyone else got an interview that day?

I received an admision material envelope and I remember that someone mention that they were going to send some letters in different colors and apparently the colors had a meaning or something like that... well, my envelope contains the same materials that were attached in the email (survey, etc) but they were print out in colored paper... have you guys received this envelope?

my interview is on Nov. 4, and i live 1 hour away from usc. Anyone else have an interview on that day?

I got the post-interview letter and it has the blue paper which ya all were talking about. It says send it back if you are still interested.

Can someone explain what exactly the "Post-interview candidate" category is?

I didn't get this (yet?). Does this mean I'm rejected?

the last interview before Dec. 1st is November 17th.

If you are coming from out of town, there is a Radisson hotel on Figueroa right by campus, it's not that far of a walk at all. They give a discount for it as well. just tell them you are interviewing at USC Dental School.

Good Luck

What? The different colors indicate the status of your acceptance?

Mine's blue as well.

Does anyone know if USC has filled all their November interview spots?

I had an interview on Oct. 13th and I just checked the USC application status webpage, and my status says "Alternate". Is that mean they already placed me on waiting list?

mine says that too. i think anyone who has interviewed will have this status until at least dec. 1.

Got ya! Man I was a little worried because I really liked the school. Although their tuition and other expenses scare the hell out of me... Well... I should worry about that later I guess.

I interviewed the 13th too. Which color group were you in?

@ Everyone who stayed at the Vagabond:

How did you guys get from LAX to the Vagabond? Did you use the Trojan Shuttle Service that's recommended in the packet we got?
And did you also use the same shuttle service to go from the USC campus --> LAX?

Thanks in advance!😀

Hey Sleepy,

I took the Prime Shuttle (the one recommended by USC) which was cheaper than the Super Shuttle.

From Vagabond Inn, I walked to the School of Dentistry. It's literally like 3 blocks away.
