are officers eligible for this benefit or is it for enlisted only?

I don't believe you can use the GI Bill benefits for CE courses either. But that aside, as long as you chose to elect to pay for the GI Bill benefits, the you can receive them no matter if you are an enlisted or officer in the military. Along with receiving the HSCP scholarship, I am utilizing the GI Bill benefits I gained from being on active duty prior to entering dental school. The extra $1250 per month is nice (for 36 months).

thanks everybody for your help. would the GI bill pay for any post dental school residency then?

Good question. I would like to know the answer to that one too. I'm assuming it would be for Ortho, Pedo and some Prosth residencies, since i think those specialties are the kind that requires tuition. I'm not sure but i think the MGIB is abuot $40K. I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work. But then again, I also thought it would pay for flight school, which it doesn't.
