Any recommendations for CE courses while on credentialing tour?

Hello,

I am planning on starting my service with a credentialing tour. I want to do general when I get out so this is a good option for me. However, I want to keep my skills sharp. Is there any benefit in terms of credentialing to take CE classes? Which CE courses would you recommend to most parallel a GPR/AEGD.

Did my credentialing tour 2020-21 and getting out next year. I would suggest to at the very least do the correspondence courses (book) and the ones the military offers you. depending on your command, you may be limited to what procedures you can even perform/practice so you may not be able to keep up with what you learned

I second what my colleague above has said.

I’m doing my credentialing tour now. Any advanced CE courses you take, you probably won’t even be able to do those procedures as a Navy Dentist. That being said, you can go to CE courses, either navy courses or civilian courses (which you pay for yourself), without using leave (vacation days).

My best advice is to buddy up with the specialists at your credentialing tour, they can teach you a lot but don’t be an annoying kiss a** gunner like those kids in dental school.

There are no rules for credentialing tours and you can get as little or as much exposure to specialists as your command allows.

If you end up deploying somewhere like a ship or go to one of our overseas bases, your command should give you more exposure to endo and OMFS as you will not have any specialitists to bail you out.

Did you really do that many amalgams? I have not done any amalgam while in the Army to this point.
