Anyone have any useful study tips? I know everyone learns in different ways and my ways aren't getting me A's so I need to change it up a bit. I'll be starting my first science class in years which is Physics I Monday and I need to do well. I've got the tutor booked and time put aside for some long study days.

Buy a whiteboard. Just do it. That will work great for kinematics and relating equations to one another which physics 1 is heavy in. Physics is such a conceptual discipline that seeing relationships on a large whiteboard compared to a small sheet of notebook paper will make a difference. Plus, you'll be able to use the whiteboard for virtually every other class you may take

And although tiring, I usually say out loud what I'm writing down and why it works this way vs another way that won't work

Flash cards will come in handy for other science classes you may take

Repetition such as writing things down over and over and over...

Flashcards are really helpful depending on the subject. Topics such as anatomy are when flashcards can be the best.

Work as many practice problems as you can in your textbook. Think of it as learning to play an instrument. You need to practice practice practice. Do them over until you understand every step. Consult different resources if your textbook isn't helpful (like YouTube). I highly recommend the book "introductory physics with algebra as a second language. " there's also the same book series for general and organic chemistry.

Khan academy helps a lot.
Ditto. Physics is really just about practice. Do as many problems as you can until you really understand it. Also pre-studying before class might be helpful if class content is dense.

Reviewing over time will help the material stick a lot better (as opposed to cramming concepts before an exam). Don't hesitate to use YouTube tutors. They're a gift from God.
