Hi.

If MD ordered bupropion XL 300mg qd and we are OOS, can we change it to XL 150mg and tell pt to take 2 tabs qd? As in…..would there be a PK difference? I know for IR it would be ok, but I wasn’t sure if ER component makes a difference. Thanks.

I am think is same so ok, ER and XL is same.

What are you playing at? Seriously.

We applied to pharmacy school during the same cycle, so I followed your posts back then. And…you wrote in perfect English. A quick glance at your posts from 2009 confirms this. So why are you choosing to write in broken English now?

Usually, it would be fine. There are exceptions. Procardia XL drug info specifically states that 3 x 30mg tabs do not have the same PK as 1 x 90mg.

we do this in the hospital all the time - there are a few exceptions - although not a tablets - androderm 4mg patch does not equal 2 x 2 mg patches

I think the androderm might be like asacol vs asacol hd. The manufacturer says 2x400 isn't the same as 1x800 because it's a topical product so the is no standard for comparison.
