Hello everyone,

Quick question--has anyone here used all 3 Qbanks throughout the year? How did you do it? I was thinking of attempting it with the plan of prioritizing completion of Rx/Kaplan and then doing whatever I could of Uworld. I was thinking about annotating all 3 banks into FA but after reading the forums a bit more I might just keep a document of Kaplan/Rx and only annotate Uworld into FA.

Thoughts?

That's what I'm doing too. I think that I am going to try and do a block or two per day starting in Feb. Multiple blocks on weekends--I hope.

Are you thinking of doing multiple UWorld passes?

Personally, I think it is overkill. I would do 2 with my main focus on UWorld at the end. I mean I plan to get in about 3500 questions, which I think it a decent number. Make sure to do all of UWorld. I am going with USMLE Rx to help make FA more relevant that facts to remember as I make my first and second pass. Then, UWorld for my 3rd pass with annotating some stuff into FA.

See, I get what you're saying and this is why I'm torn--instead of trying to hang on to my UWorld virginity till the very end, I was thinking of just being a qbank $lut and doing 1 pass before the dedicated period and do another pass (my 2nd pass) during dedicated period. Argh I feel so so indecisive!!

I replied to the other guy's post. Are you planning on doing a block or two per day from the beginning of 2nd year?? Or in your "dedicated" period? I feel like I would burn out or at the very least get really tired of Qbanks if I did 2-3 blocks per day for a whole year!

I plan on building my base very strong before I begin my dedicated study. I could get through more questions but I think it is better to get through them and really understand stuff instead of just shooting to get through them for the sake of getting through them. With classes, I cant really do more without getting burned out by April and then kill my drive in dedicated study time. I guess it depends on the person. I think 3500 questions or so is plenty. If I cant figure out things from that, then I deserve to fail. I think that can get me my 230+. Along with DIT.

I could see how UWorld 2x would be good, but maybe 1x for the others. Ideally, you would have your foundation from your coursework meaning that you only need to heavily review subjects you struggle with.

You can easily spend a month going through UWorld slowly, giving yourself time to actually read the very well-written explanations. I would personally go through UW twice before I'd ever consider paying for another qbank.

If I were doing it again, I would do UW once through MS2 and then reset it for dedicated study before the test. On the new second pass (tutor mode), I'd mark the questions I got wrong or guessed on, then go through those questions a third time.
