I was just wondering if anyone had tried to use them either successfully or unsuccessfully. I came in with both semesters of physics lecture though I still have to take the lab and both semesters of calc. Does anyone know which schools accept these and which don't? Thanks.

I used them successfully.. I haven't taken any math in college, so yea u should be fine mostly... its only that like with certain things u need to show competency in higher levels if u passed out of the general but i think thats mostly with the bio stuff...

Just to get an idea, what schools did you apply to and were there any other prereqs that you completed this way other than calculus?

See my mdapps profile for where I applied and yes, I had 30 ap credits.. They substituted for Bio 1 and 2, english/writing, chem 1 and chem lab (I had to take chem 2), calc 1 and 2, and then like history and a poetry class but obviously they didn't sub for any pre-med reqs. However, I am also a Genetics major so I took Orgo and Genetics and mol bio and biochem. The only thing I didn't really take higher of was calc. I'm not sure what the physics policy is but I can't see them requiring you to take more physics. Basically, I think chem and bio are the only things you'd have to shower higher level competency in.

I know UCLA and Vandy are pretty strict about not accepting AP credits as requirements. Vandy I emailed and they told me flat out that I couldn't use my AP credit for one semester of physics with lab, even though I had completed second semester physics on top of having the AP credit. UCLA I didn't email, but it's stated pretty clearly on their website. Thus I applied to neither school.

Those schools to which I applied accepted my AP credit for 2 semesters of calc, one semester of bio, one semester of gen chem and one semester of physics (all the sciences with labs).
