Has anyone ever done this instead of using the government issued card? I've heard of people doing it so they can get the miles/points from using their own card. What are the ramifications? I don't see a problem with it if I can pay off my own card and then just get reimbursed.
Also, is the food portion of the per diem automatically given to us or do we need to save receipts. I've tried looking this info up online and have struggled. Thanks.

You can use your own card w/o ramifications. Also, I signed up for Priority Club membership for Holiday Inn Express before my ADT and from my 28 day stay I "earned" three free nights for a later vacation.

...just make sure that if you DO have a government card issued to your name, when you're filling out the travel voucher (I'm assuming everyone has to use the DTS system now) make sure that your travel, lodging or rental car expenses are not being reimbursed to the card directly - there's a way to manually override the disbursement destinations on the voucher.
