ECFMG to Provide International Medical Schools with USMLE Performance Data on Their Students/Graduates (NOV 2, 2009)

As I have pointed out over the years, all the posts about USMLE scores from various medical schools in the Philippines are just anecdotal nonsense. But that is about to change.....kind of....well,...not really.
This announcement means that the info will be available to the schools. It doesn't mean that the schools will necessarily share it with the public at large. An old school with a venerable reputation is unlikely to let the public freely mine this data.
Also this data will be incomplete, as some students are sure to with hold their scores for various reasons.
We won't really know much more than we know now.
