USMLE - Official 2017 Step 2 CK Experiences and Scores Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Everyone, please do not freak out lol. Get a grip, none of you failed and deep down you know it. Don't try to interpret what is going on with the website to correlations about your score and such; this is all done by some webmaster or database manager in IT who is so far removed from the contents and assessment of the test that it's funny. Just check the page around Wednesday every week and if you get your score congrats. Otherwise, focus on your life for another week.

It is funny that I created this account here just to reply on your comments.
Step 1 score: 243

For CK, studied only from UW.
Took UWSA 1: 255 and scheduled my exam for August 22nd.
(didn't take UWSA 2)

Went to the exam.
Just like this Joanna1987, her exam was just like mine.
1,2,3,4 blocks feeling confident and flying over the content.

block 5,6,7 were horrible. I mean.. I know my stuff. Is not coincidence to get 90% in every medicine CMS, above 80% on UW, on my prep.
But for real, blocks 5,6,7 were terrible, I will start reading the questions and everything will be like:

A 25-yo-female G2P3A2 comes to clinic.. then. next question
A 12 weeks old new born baby comes to the clinic... next question
A 45 years old G2P1A0 comes to clinic...
next..
A study is being conducted to assess efficacy...
next..
In a population being studied..
next.
A 2 days old baby...
next
A 30 years old G6P2A2

Crazy man..
At this point I don't know what to expect.
First, I am hoping I will get my results on Sept 6th or Sep 13th IDK.

It is hard to write a personal statement without knowing what to expect from your score.
(Block 8 was humanized)

I don't usually comment on FORUMS but I read all your comments for the last 5 pages.
and the feeling is exactly the same.

So, if is hard for everyone, I am hoping the scores will be maintained
what do you think?

Thanks guys

Permit disappeared as well. But I took in early/mid July so I sure as hell better get that score next week.

Good luck to call. See you next week

permit disappeared:O
:/, freaking out... Also, the whole permit disappearing and passing isn't right - one of my friend's permit disappeared for CS and she ended up failing.

Took it July 20th and mine is still there as well...could I have really dropped from 245 average on uwsa to fail..? Now I'm trippin...

I had 243 twice and I'm afraid of failing too 🙁

I've read some horror stories online. People getting 230 on uwsa and failing the real thing.

I also didn't sleep the night before, so you know 🙂 I'm just trying not to follow the panic.

How did you feel after the exam?

Honestly, I don't know. I feel like I saw nothing from MTB or Uworld except for one question. Everything else just felt so vague and after about a block or two of this I just went into auto pilot and next thing I know, the test is over. I mean having given step 1, I was a bit confident that I had at least passed but even that is honestly questionable at this stage. The test was so vague it basically comes down to how well I guessed. Needless to say, I'm starting to feel more and more uncertain. Having to wait for over a month doesn't help either...whatever the outcome, I just hope my score comes out on the 6th

It makes me so effing nervous that everyone is so nervous.

I barely passed step 1 and no one else seemed nervous. How do I feel good about passing step 2 if even the high scorers from step 1 feel worries? F**k!!!!

It's because we know nothing. LOL

This exam is a mindfu**ck.

Your permit disappeared. You passed. Relax. If you didn't then your permit should still be active to schedule your retake, no?

No apparently that means nothing. Some girl at my school failed step 1 with a permit that disappeared 2 weeks before score
strange. maybe her permit expired?

Anyways, you could either convince yourself that this rumor is true and have some relief until Wednesday or keep worrying. I choose the earlier.

Nevermind. Looks like my eligibility is until end of September.

If that's what you're referring to, perhaps. But I still don't trust that too much.

Yeah my permit was valid till end of september as well.

The theory actually makes sense. If you failed, you'd need your permit to schedule a retake. However, if you passed, then you can't take the test anymore, and therefore, your permit would expire.

With that said, anyone who still has their permit shouldn't panic yet. Wait until Wednesday. We are speculating here, nothing more.

Yes that does make sense, but if someone failed can't you just apply for another permit and go thru the process again?

Bottom line is I hope that's true but also like above poster said, don't fret if you still have yours.

In fact, can you even use the same permit to schedule another test ?

This forum have been surprinsly supportive but now I'm becoming the very neurotic med student who I was initially bashing (and I admit that) so I'll stay away for the time being. Again, permit or not -- stay sane !

I think the permit is for a test period not for a specific test, but again, that's me theorizing and I could be all wrong. For all I know, I could have failed the test :scared:

Guys, forget the permit nonsense, it was a glitch in the system fixed long ago. Wait for your result and relax!

So my permit is gone today but I'm pretty sure my eligibility period also expired....either way I'll drink the kool aid and assume I passed.

After Step 1, my permit had disappeared the NIGHT before I got results. Some people I know told me their permits never disappeared and they passed.
From what I have heard, the disappearance is related to the score release, not pass/fail. I don't know, though.

My permit is still there, the only thing that changed is when I click on it, it states "bla bla may have sat for the exam or something".

We will know soon, I guess...

That's what my permit was doing yesterday...in all honesty, it probably doesn't mean jack squat.

Honestly I don't remember and I went Rambo when cleaning up my emails one day, but I'm thinking it was up till August, can't be quoted on that though. I think my gameplan is to distract myself with Narcos until Wednesday.
I see. As I mentioned above, we are only speculating. There's a lot of unknowns. If you scored 240s on UWSA, historical trends show that it's highly unlikely that you failed.

Good game plan

My permit also disappeared today, but I'm confident it has nothing to do with the exam. However, I do know my eligibility period was supposed to expire on Sept 30th since I actually had printed out the paper and checked just to make sure. Like many had said, I have friends who failed Step 1 or CS and their permit was gone one week before or more. So I am sure it is unrelated to pass/fail and it is more related to release date. I'm just trying to keep cool, but still I'M DYING OF ANXIETY.:nailbiting::nailbiting:.. I don't know what to expect as I'm in the low IQ spectrum:bag: so I am literally living on "hope and faith" that next wed a miracle will help me. 🙁 🤔🤔

Goals for today: realize the permit thing means absolutely nothing, and let's all work on our confidence. We'll have patients putting their lives in our hands in 1 short year. Let's try to show a little composure

Thankfully I'm on radiology now so I can freak out all I want 😛

THIS.
I was thinking about it last night and decided to just be confident. I studied, I did UWSAs and passed them. I gotta believe in myself and be confident. At least till Wednesday 😛

Question for yall, besides uworld did anyone use another question bank like Usmle rx or kaplan ?
i did Usmlerx hard questions only ( about 500). It helped me for 2-3 hard questions I can remember. But that felt like step 1 material, so I can't even tell wether or not those questions even count.
