Hello everyone,
I'm a fourth year medical student who has just realized that upcoming away rotations and interviews and the like are likely to be expensive. The only thing I have that might be valuable is a very comprehensive set of electronic flashcards I made for the USMLE Step 1.
Using the program Mental Case, I made about 7,500 flashcards incorporating all of the facts, diagrams and pictures from First Aid (2010). It took me over 350 hours! Most of the questions are in clinical vignette form and the diagrams are done as fill in the blank. I also included heart sounds and breath sounds (because Mental Case supports audio files). The flashcard program has the ability to create lesson plans and has apps for ipad/iphone for studying on the go. I can try to figure out a way to export the flashcards for non-Mac users or for other programs.
I think the flashcards really helped me, because I'm not very good at learning things by just reading them. They can be used instead of (instead of adjunctively with) First Aid, because all the material is covered. I haven't really figured out the practical stuff (like distribution) yet, but I was just wondering if there was any interest. My school email address is [email protected] - please don't spam me!
Thanks!
