USMLE STep 3 needed for DO grad in allopathic residency?

For DOs, just wondering if USMLE Step 3 plays any role (or if it is necessary) in landing a career/fellowship spot.

I have passed COMLEX and USMLE Step 1 and 2, now I have to decide if I should take USMLE Step 3.....

You don't need to have it.

If you want to take it then go ahead. You've already passed step I and II.

You do not need it for allo residencies. However, you have to pass the CS in order to be eligible to take USMLE 3. Have fun coughing up more money if you want to.
