does anyone know what % of questions come from different specialties? either from personal experience or from what you've read about the exam. i'm not sure if i ever came across this info in any of the review books or the usmle's website or if i'm just blanking out... internal medicine - psych - neuro - ob/gyn - ortho- peds - surgery - subspecialties (ophtho/derm)? i'm trying to decide how much of my time to spend (waste) on studying each.

thanks!

I don’t know the exact %. But from my experience in the exam I did, I can estimate it like that; 60% internal medicine – 13% psych – 7% ob/gyn – 9% peds – 7% surgery, 4% others (basic science, sup specialties, mixed …). As I said this is just rough estimate.
