I know someone has asked this before, but I can't seem to find the thread...

Any advice on how much it would be worth it to work on USMLE World during rotations? Is it good prep for the shelf exams?

I'm usually too drained to read a textbook at the end of the day, so I'm hoping questions and explanations would be more helpful.

Any thoughts?

I think you'd benefit from it alot, except the fact that you'd have to renew it for your entire 3rd year of medical school which could get quite expensive.
If it's good enough for the Step 2 CS exam then its good for the shelf exams.

I'm using USMLEWorld (along with Blueprints and Case Files) to study for the OB/GYN shelf. The shelf is next week -- I'll post after I get a sense of how well it prepped me for the exam.

They've got a deal now on USMLEWorld where you can buy a year's worth (or so) for like $400. That's the same price I paid last year for 9 months of Kaplan's QBank, which I used to study for class exams and, I felt, helped me a lot on both those and Step I. I figured it'd be worth $400 to have USMLEWorld for a year to prep for both Step II and the shelf exams.

Yeah, you can't go wrong with USMLEWORLD. Awesome resource.

Not exactly the same thing, but regarding your plan, it's certainly a good idea.

I have Kaplan Step2 QReview, purchased 12mos for the price of 6mos ($400), basically using this for 3rd year, plus the Case Files series which I love!
I'm not a huge fan of Blueprints or First Aid oR NMS etc (retain <10% after reading them), but my Qbank plus Case Files go a long way 🙂
It's really helped me work on timing and choosing the BEST next step, plus I read all the explanations. For additional help, I have Kaplan notes and videos which I got off of Ebay for under 50 bucks!

For Step2 board study I'll do like 1-2 mo USMLE world, since there won't be much time to study anyway.
