What is the normal time period between USMLE steps 1 & 2?

Are there students that handle it all at once?

Everyone takes step I at the end of second year. Most take step 2 at the end of third year or sometime during the fourth year. Since its a computerized exam it gives students more flexability, so its basically up to the each person.

 

[Idiopathic]

Many IMG's take both in the same time period, or Step 2 first, I think.
