Someone please help me!!! I got accepted into Nova and USN. I'm so happy but yet so confused. I don't know which school to pick.

Nova is so close to home, but on the other hand USN is a 3 year program.

I don't know the details of the program at USN, however, I believe that a 4 year program would be better because you wouldn't be as "burned out" from school. The 3 year program is probably more accelerated if it doesn't sacrifice teaching anything in order to graduate earlier. It's good to have a break every now and then! Also, Nova is very technologically advanced and boasts the ability to have its students download every single lecture- which is good if you miss a class, were confused, etc. Nova is in a great location too- right near the beach, 2 huge shopping malls (one of which is the largest outlet mall in Florida), and plenty of sunshine 🙂 Then again, I'm a little biased... I'll be at Nova in the fall 😉 Hope to see you there! 😀

From someone who currently attends USN--I would concur that burnout is a huge factor. Very fast pace at the school and yes, very expensive. I was raised in the Ft Lauderdale area so I know how beautiful it is down there and what a great school NOVA is. I ended up in USN because my hubby is active duty military and he is currently stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Vegas (hence the major reason I applied to school here)

I wouldn't dare tell you which school you should go to, but I can say that having family nearby while attending school is a huge perk. I would give anything to have my family nearby to help me out once in a while. I have two kids (ages 4 & 5). Anyhow, whatever decision you make, I wish you the best of luck. :luck:

Hey Asor,
Can you get Federal loans while going to USN or do they all have to be privately funded?

Unfortunately, right now you have to take out private loans. The school is accredited and has applied with the Federal governement to attain the status which would allow USN to grant Fed loans. But until that happens, private is the only way to go.

I like USN alot, however I would be lying if I told you that it's a walk in the park. It is very fast paced (exams every other Friday) and high stress (at least for me) You might be one of those people who strives under pressure and like it. It just all depends on the individual. As far as the environement is concerned--everyone is super nice and I love that. You'll meet great people from all over who have a similar passion for pharmacy.

Again, there are pros and cons to every school--I happen to enjoy mine and am grateful to have gotten in. But yes, stress, tireless studying, and pressure do go hand in hand there.

I don't have lots of information about either school, but if both are equal:

Nova is close to HOME, so definately it is a big pro. don't underestimate it!
3 year program is nice; you'll finish early. you have to see how you handle the stress away from Home. If no problem, then go for it.

That's my opinion
either choice you've already been accepted 👍
Good luck !
