From what I hear UT has a pretty solid program. They do most of the anesthesia at Memorial Hermann which also is a large level 1 trauma center. Hermann has a decently sized vascular and CT case load but not near the size of lukes or methodist. Hermann also has no hrt/lung TP or vad programs though I think they are in the process of developing them. UT also provides the anesthesia for hermann childrens hospital so you wil get alot of PEDS as well. NOt to knowledgable about the overall details of the UT program.

UT:
Memorial Hermann - Level 1 trauma, have own life flight team, mod vascular and CT load but programs going, Hermann is building a new vascular tower as we speak.
Hermann childrens - much PEDS as well

Hermann has kidney and liver TP services but know heart and lungs or vads

UT-H rotates thru Tex Hrt Inst and gets some experience in their Hrt/Lung TP's. They rotate thru St Luke's and thru MD Anderson in addition to Hermann and LBJ.
The faculty at UT are very approachable and most are on a first name basis with the residents. They joke with the students and are very laid back as a whole. Anything else was said in the reply.
