Do insurance companies typically provide individual malpractice insurance coverage when they employ psychiatrists for utilization review/peer review positions?
Why would they? The physician is only advising on whether or not insurance should pay/cover care, they are not involved in any care decisions or if the insurance company will actually pay so there should be no liability.
