About five weeks for me between the interview and the waitlist. I've been hoping for more news ever since.
 
Does anyone know if UVM is still sending out interview invitations? Thanks.
 
Did they stop accepting people or what?
 
My status page hasn't changed in months. I know they say they're reviewing till April, but do you think we still have a shot off the waitlist?
 
What a bummer! I just got the news that UVM placed me on their OOS waiting list. I so wanted to go there:scared:. I guess the best thing to do now is sit and wait.
Did anybody else check their status page lately?

I've been on the OOS waitlist since November 🙁
 
I withdrew a week or two ago - I hope my spot goes to one of you die-hard UVM fans. Good luck!
 
Dudes...I've been waitlisted since October 15th. Ouch babe, very ouch...
 
I withdrew last week as well. I was accepted to OHSU, and it felt a lot like UVM-west in many ways. Good luck to everyone who is holding out and I hope my withdrawal helps someone out.

i don't know exact numbers, but am under the impression (from friends at UVM and interviewing) that many oos applicants are initially waitlisted..and that it does tend to move alot. students i met during the interview day said 'don't worry if you're waitlisted, waitlist means nothing at UVM!' (meaning lots of students got in off the WL) i suppose every year is different, but im choosing to keep some hope that it will move for us:luck:

anyone feel free to correct me if you have other info!

I am also waiting to hear how it's moving. I so want to get off that list. Show me some love UVM!
 
Did anyone else have a heart attack when they read "We are pleased to inform you..." immediately followed by "your name has been placed on the Out-of-Area waitlist of qualified/alternate candidates"?

They should change the wording. Something like "We are ambivalent to inform you..."

Whenever I check my status on a computer with a different screen resolution from own machine I do a double take... Then I realize that all that's changed is the width of each paragraph, and the letter has always begun with the same phrase...

Sent them an email earlier today letting them know they were my first-choice.

Two hours later an acceptance email was sitting in my inbox!

I am wondering the same thing. I emailed them last week and all they keep saying is 'we cannot discuss the waitlist movement or your position'. What a bummer.🙁
 
Yeah, I was tempted to e-mail Patrick myself to see if he could give a hint about WL movement but it sounds like they are strict about that this year.
 
...thoughts on why the UVM list is taking so long to start moving (I realize three days is not forever, but I was under the impression things would get rolling pretty soon after, if not immediately on, May 15th).
 
yeah, I don't know what the hold up is on the movement, but I am anxiously awaiting . . .

bump. Yeah, seriously, where's the movement? Who wants to be the first to guarantee they're NOT getting in by calling and asking about it? (Not me.)

Hi all, just wanted to let everyone know that I was accepted off the OOS waitlist this morning! Hopefully this will be the start of some movement for other folks on the list as well! It took a lot of letters, a few phone calls, and patience since January, but its nice to have my first acceptance! Good luck to those still waiting!
 
I just graduated from UVM and would be happy to try and answer any questions people have about Burlington, UVM, med student life in general, etc. It's been a couple of years since basic science classes for me and I know there have been some changes made since then, but I'll try to answer the best I can. Congrats to everyone who has an acceptance, and best of luck to those who are waiting. I got off the waitlist, and was extremely happy with my decision to attend UVM. PM me with any questions!
