I was just wondering UW SOP has pre req requirements of 1 year of Biology with labs and Microbiology+Lab. Are we allowed to use the Microbiology lab to satisfy the 1 year of Biology with labs as well?

Thank you!

You would have to ask the school directly.
In my opinion, I think it'll be a no. Biology is a core science. There really shouldn't be a reason why you haven't taken it. Biology is typically a pre-req for Microbio anyway.

Yep.

Not necessarily true. Some states don't offer year-long sequences of biology at many of their colleges.

For the University of Minnesota, for example, the first semester of a biology sequence or just one semester of regular biology is enough to complete the general biology prerequisite for the College of Pharmacy. The second semester of a biology sequence often isn't applicable to pharmacy school anyway. Additionally, most microbiology courses I've seen require only one semester of biology as a prerequisite.

The original poster definitely should contact the UW directly and clarify if there are other biology courses that would make up for lack of a year-long sequence, if needed.
