Step I UWorld for a year? Worth it?

Is UWorld for a year worth the cost? It comes to around $399.. or it is better to get UWorld for a few months.

I would just buy it for a few months closer to the test so it's fresh

I bought it for 3 months and I wished I had known just to buy it for one.

I bought it for 6 months thinking I would go along my second half of the year path/pharm. Didn't really get the time to do it as I planned but I've finished my first pass just before dedicated study time so I thought mine was worth it. Plus, I can reset it as well. Only problem is the cost but what are ya gonna do.

I think it's most useful when you've learned lots of path already and made (or almost made) a pass through FA. It's also great at gauging your level of preparedness during the last several weeks before the exam, so I don't know that I would waste it during the year (though you could). I'd go for another qbank if you want to drill in material while you're learning it.

Thanks for your input guys. It does seem like lot of money for the whole year but alot of the second years in my school got it for the whole year..hmm the decisions that become harder when we are on a limited budget. lol

Yeah...save it for dedicated time. It's also expensive. And I guarantee if you buy it....you're gonna be too busy 2nd year to really have much time to spend with it anyway.

This. I had UW for a good part of 2nd year, but only had limited time to do some questions!

Additionally, now going through UW, I think there is alot of benefit to waiting until closer to your exam & dedicated prep period (so maybe 3 months before) to starting UW.
