Hey guys,

My average UWorld percentage is 77% (all unused, random, timed 50% complete). I took a recent practice NBME and got a score of 240...I use two sites to predict scores based on UWorld averages (they've been tossed around here on SDN):

http://usmle-score-correlation.blogspot.com/
and
http://clinicalre view.com/ClinicalReview/resources/usmle-score-calculator.html

According to these predictors, I should be in around the 260's with a 77%...Thus, I have come to the conclusion that these charts are WAY OFF (over predict)??? If these charts are so inaccurate, why do people toss them around here on SDN? Also, if I want a 250+ do I have to get like 85%+ on Uworld?!

I'm just curious how have your NBME scores and UWorld averages correlated? Are these charts actually fairly accurate with your practice (or real) score?

Thanks!

I just finished Uworld with a 79% average. In my school administered cbsa I got a 258, on nbme 7 I got a 254 and on uwsa1 I got a 264. It seems my uworld percentage has correlated fairly well. However, after browsing through the several threads regarding score correlation I would put the predictive value of these exams within + or - 15 points. What I would take from your scores is that you are on the right track and have a solid chance of performing really well on the real thing.

Those websites were very inaccurate for me, too. I would stick with NBME as prognosticators and use UWorld (and other qbanks) as learning tools.
