In completing the UW QBank, I have noticed there are some concepts or principles tested that I had not heard of previously and not come across in any review book. For example:
Are these concepts (listed above) things that I should just learn from doing UWorld, or I should have known from prior knowledge/reading? I try to eliminate answer choices based on critical thinking / deductive reasoning whenever possible. But for example, I crossed out Blasto because I was like "oh that does not cause lytic bone lesions" on that question.
I assume this is why people say "use UWorld as a learning tool" -- in the sense that you will learn new concepts you will not have seen before.
- bronchogenic cysts present as MIDDLE mediastinal mass
- in Blastomycosis, you can have lytic bone lesions
- use of end-inspiratory and end-expiratory hold pressures to calculate plateau pressure and PEEP
