Hey guys. Just took UWSA and got a 201. My test date is may 31. I have 7 solid weeks of studying. Any advice of what I should do? I have MTB, DIT with Step up to step 2, secrets, and usmleworld. Which one should I keep and which one should I get rid of. Thanks!

Depends.

Are you under a school-imposed deadline to take the exam or are you working/ on study break to study for the exam?

How long have you spent studying for the exam so far?

Are you still in school and, if not, what was your year of graduation?

These may seem trivial, but I'm trying to gain an insight into the trajectory of your study. If you've been studying for 3 weeks and are still in school, that's one thing. I'd be giving very different advice to someone who'd graduated and had spent the guts of a year studying for the exam and scored a 201.

EDIT: How did you fare on Step 1?

Good point: Ok I have 7 weeks devoted study time (no electives nothing). I just finished an easy elective (radiology, so i was studying for about 4/day, but i am prepared now to step it up to 8+ (since i have nothing else to do). I am a caribbean med student, will be graduated this january. My step 1 was a 198 (so obviously I need to do better on this one). I was born in the US so no visa issue. My main question is: based on these factors, how should I study. Should I do DIT in 15 days and then just crank out uworld. Should i read MTB and then crank out uworld. Should i only do uworld? and then take breaks with secrets?

Thanks for ur help!

OK - with 7 dedicated weeks you should be well able to boost that score in a major way.

I found Master the Boards very good. However, UWorld is where the money is so I'd make this the priority. I spent 3-5 hours going through each block of 44 questions to try nail each concept. I also read Secrets and MTB which helped.

If you were to spend 8 hours of your day on UWorld (88 questions = QBank complete within 25 days), this would enable you to go through it twice. You might add another two hours to that and spend it doing either MTB or Secrets. Hold off on further self assessments until you've gone through UWorld once.
