Hey! Yeah so as the poster above has stated, the scholarship for next summer/fall will open sometime in Spring 2025. I applied in March for a scholarship to start this summer, and they just got back to me a week ago notifying me that I received the scholarship. I've heard from several people that they have been particularly slow this year with reviewing applications (I'm sure it being an election year slows down government efficiency even more lol). If you do apply, I would suggest getting your application materials ready and submitting as soon as their portal opens. The earlier you get your application in, the earlier they will review your application and get back to you.
I submitted my application at the very end of March, which was the tail end of the deadline for if I wanted to receive the scholarship for this past summer. But because I submitted my application pretty late into the cycle, they didn't get back to me until recently, so my scholarship won't start until January 2025.
Also, since the VA HPSP program is fairly new and began in 2020, there probably aren't many people who have been through the full course of the program yet. But, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the application process!
