Hi All,

Two quick questions:

1. GRE's - I took mine in 2003 & must retake it to apply vet school. Do I have to report the 2003 score (I don't want to!)

and

2. Do any of you know if they put more weight on 4yr vs 2yr programs when completing your required science courses? I have a BA already, but my undergrad gpa is crummy. I'd like to save $$ by going to a 2year school for the science courses but if I need to I'll pay full price & go to a 4 yr. Just wanted to know folks experience.

Thanks! And congrats to anyone getting acceptances today 🙂

Hey there eep,

I also took my GREs back in 2003. My understanding is that since those scores will be expired by the time we apply this fall or anytime thereafter, we won't have to report them. I think they are basically wiped out of existence when they are expired, hence having to take them again in the first place.

As far as the required coursework, I spoke with a few admissions counselors about the same sort of thing. I was hoping to save some money on some pre-reqs that I didn't have to take in undergrad (statistics, english comp). They all told be a similar thing: If my GPA in undergrad was good, then taking pre-reqs at a community college would be adequate, BUT if my undergrad GPA was in any way not stellar, then I should definitely take those courses at an accredited 4 year university.

So if you are trying to make up a lower undergrad GPA, and I would say, ESPECIALLY if those will be science courses, you need to take them at a 4 year university. sorry.

No need to apologize. That's exactly the info I needed to hear, and helps me out very much.

Thank you!
