How much vacation time should a recently graduated FM resident reasonably expect?

How much vacation time is typical for a partner in FM?

Does anyone have any idea how many weeks of vacation Family physicians typically enjoy?

I assume you're asking about salaried positions, where your vacation is paid? I'd say 4 weeks/year is typical.

Believe it's typically negotiable in many instances if you want more (with a decrease in pay of course).

I agree with KentW.

4 weeks paid vacation is typical for a starting physician.

However, 3 weeks can be reasonable if you get the major holidays and sick-leave (2wk/year range).

It's also expected that you're going to use some of that vacation time for CME.
