In my spare time, I talk to people on 7cups.com.
For the unfamiliar, it's more or less a chatting service in which people who want a listening ear (not a qualified therapist or counselor) can access a live human to chat to for free. Volunteers undergo a very brief training initially (I think mine took less than ten minutes) in which we are basically instructed on how to best show empathy, facilitate open-ended conversation, redirect them towards professional assistance if needed, etc.
Is this an EC worth mentioning on an app? I know the hours would be self-reported/the training is minimal/the background checks and credentials are just about none, so I thought I'd ask.
