of late posts have been followed up by other users that claim to attend one of the Big 4 schools, that leaves one to think that I do not tell the truth.... I'm so tired of Value MD as others are, there are a lot of Caribbean students there that are just full of it, they think if you do not attend a big 4 school you have no rights, it's so unprofessional there it boggles the mind,

What good is Value MD if it is a "Cheerleading" site for the big 4 there are over 30 other schools that need to be discussed and posted on by the current students.:meanie:

My question is: why do you care?

You are old enough to know what matters and what doesn't. You also know through your hard earned wisdom that only YOUR insecurities can affect your life because it is all about perspective.

There are facts that you cannot change. They include that only 4 schools can get you licensed in 50 states. That does not mean that it is the best option for everyone (although it is for the slim majority).

Most people love SGU, but I did not go there because the larger class sizes. I like small classes even though people push for SGU as if it will make a difference in YOUR future.

I know you are proud of SJSM and I respect you for that. Don't belittle yourself by lowering yourself to the level of "cheerleaders" and "haters" on all of the boards.

Is it really good policy for the ADMIN of VMD to push only the top 4 schools and let the other schools and the students to be pushed around like we are idiots?

Mind you AUA, MUA, SMU, SJSM and others are the ones that get kicked in the B.......all the time I just did for saying something smart about a spam message.

Thats why I'm pissed.

Do you really think the admin has something to do with it? If that is the case, then I would be sympathetic to your conerns.

I thought that you were complaining about the idiots who post (present company (u&me) included...lol)

The main problem with people from the non-4 schools is that they cheerlead instead of logically defending their decisions (like you do).

Yeah I know and it took a long time for people to understand me,
Yes my gripe is with ADMIN and I have spent ( wasted ) Too much time posting PM's to them. You see they are very strict like a Catholic Nun on that site and that is good and bad
the Bad is at times you get slapped for no reason.

mcgillgrad

i would like to ask you something

can i sent you a PM?

thanks

So McGill grad, why are you not going to a Canadian or US school?? Seems you have sound advice and knowledgeable of things. Why the Caribbean?

Dude, tell me the story in a private message if you wish.🙂

It's not really anyone's business and no one could relate to it.

In short, I will be an MD and I will be an excellent physician.

In less than 100 years, we will all be worm food anyway so there is no point in worrying about where you graduated or what school you attended.

A nice car will attract attention, but will not change who you are as a person...and attending a LCME school means nothing if the person behind the MD does not live up to the hype. In other words, I can drive a beat-up ****box and still have all the confidence in the world; similarly, I will graduate from the Caribbean and earn the respect I deserve because of who I am, not because of where I went to school.

My issue was resolved but I still think the problems at VMD make it difficult to navigate, it is filled with school ADMIN pretending to be students and other agents that rip into another school or "Cheerlead" thier school. The Honest students and posters get slapped or pushed around and confused to the real issues.

Really half the schools besides the big 4 (AUC,SGU,ROSS,SABA) may be ok, not the first choice caribbean by far but OK the rest are so messed up I wouldn't send the guy I hate the most in my class to.................

Yes, the board is a bit picky when it comes to enforcing the TOS.

It makes it difficult to express your passion and to fight off the trolls. Then again, some of the mods are really understanding.

I am sure you have come to the same realization as I have about the boards and the schools. The boards regurgitate one kernel of truth into a corncob of unintelligible gobbily-gook. I am guilty of this, too.

In short, some questions about people's experiences reap rewards while a huge number of "opinions" and hearsay muddy up the waters. The good news is that the majority of the information can be found through official sources which leaves legitimate questions about housing, food, activities and relative experiences with the students/admin/advisors/facilities/etc.

The problem arises when people such as "dr. aaron" let their insecurities about SMU create aggressive online personalities subconsciously controlling their demeanor.

I see your point, but from my viewpoint, seems you are trying to proove very hard you are going to be a great physician and will do well...personally, i sense alot of tension in your words. I could be wrong and you sound confident, but some of us on here might see your confidence as intimidating in a bad way. I think you will do well. Are you a med student now or starting this fall?👍

The big 3 are the programs that have graduates licensed in all 50 US States. So? I think most people who go overseas and pay over $200K plus want more value for their money.

I have been reading VMD on and off, probably since 2003. Some useful information, otherwise like any other public internet forum, it is open to just about anyone with a PC and an internet connection. Therefore, next time you're reading anything on SDN, VMD, etc. remember that the difference between "AvrgJoe123" and a hole in the wall, may not be much.
