So my roommate told me that Vanderbilt called to confirm my address but wouldn't say anything else (b/c I'm in hurricane affected areas).

So, are both the secondary and rejection sent by snail mail?

Just wondering if its a good sign or not.

Thanks

yes both are by snail mail, I am guessing you have not interviewed yet? in that case a letter might have been returned to them. Give them a call, they have very helpful people at thier admissions office..

My guess would be that they want to ensure that your address still exists so that they can actually send you mail. Whether that be good or bad, I'd be hard pressed to guess. I usually equate effort with a positive outcome, so I'd assume that this is a good thing.

I just got an e-mail today saying that a letter sent to me was returned to them. I called to confirm my address(instead of 2S it was just 2, which doesn't usually matter---I'm going to kill my mailman) and Jennifer was really nice, but it was hard to tell if it was "good news nice" or "you poor thing nice". I guess I'll find out in a week.

Yep I called and they said I should hear from them shortly.

Then I asked what my status was...and they said they couldn't say.

Didn't sound too good. Oh well.

I just called, too, and she told me that she wasn't allowed to say. I had to give it a shot, though. It didn't sound that good to me, either. I've heard of instances were someone was told the same thing, but then if it was good news, "but I wouldn't be worried about it" would be added. I had low numbers for Vanderbilt, but I was hoping I'd slip through. Either way, since my LOR's aren't in, this would be the first definitive decision made by any school on me, and that somehow is more comforting than having to wait anxiously.

i got my vandy rejection letter yesterday as well. thin envelope, my first rejection.
even though i was expecting this from vandy and probably pitt(no secondary yet), it still stings. i would feel better if i had a couple of interview invites.
