Starting to look for jobs after vascular integrated residency and considering moving home to PA. I know there are geographical considerations. I plan to work at a non academic center, but not a small one. It’s ok if they have surgery residents etc.. Does anyone know what someone new could pull in such a setting? Thanks.

It seems like right around $400K is the starting range for a lot of these jobs. Average starting in academics was somewhere around $380K and average PP starting was $440K. Huge variation though depending on region. There are PPs where the starting salary is a lot lower but no buy-in to partnership w/ partners making a lot more. The starting salary, although important, is actually not the most important thing you're going to be looking for. What's the infrastructure? How are the senior partners? What are the referral patterns? Local politics? Path to partnership? Etc. Good luck homey. Cheer.
