To be honest, I just fell in love with their mission. Being from a rural, medically underserved place, I just found VCOM's focus on the treating these types of populations to be perfectly aligned with my values. If that's the type of doctor you want to be, then VCOM is a good match. There's very few, if any, other schools that seek to fill that niche. And I feel like VCOM is distinguished enough now (after 10 years) that your choices really aren't limited to only rural, primary care if you don't want to do it. But having that exposure is important, at least to me. 🙂
