For those who received an interview invite from VCU, did you all get this message on the status page?

"The Committee's file review indicates that they are very interested in your candidacy. There is another increase in the applicant pool this year, but we are trying to get all candidates at your priority score interviewed as soon as possible. Please watch for an e-mail from us regarding a possible interview date."

No not everyone gets this. Some get an interview right away. But no worries, many who get this message get interviews a few days/weeks after.

so people who got this msg. are in the lower priority group than those who receive interview right away? 😕

I got that message in July and received the invite a couple of weeks later.

I'm actually in Richmond now and will be interviewing tomorrow!

oh..good luck :luck:

I got this on my status page:

"The committee's file review indicates that they would like to consider your file further. We are now in the process of scheduling interviews and will continue to do so through February. Unfortunately, the committee indicates interest in far more candidates than we are able to interview. Since we are dependent on the Committee member's schedules for interview spaces, we are unable to predict when or if we will be able to schedule you this year. Please continue to check this site to learn when further action has been taken."
Does this mean delayed rejection or what?
Thanks,
THR

I think they have some sort of computerized numerical ranking system. If you are in the upper end, you get the "interested in your candidacy" status, sometimes followed by an interview email. If you are in the middle, you get the email above. If you are in the lower end, you get a harsher email. Lower than that is a rejection. Your rank can change anytime as more people withdraw or apply.

"Your M.D. file is now complete. The Admissions Committee will now do a comprehensive review of your application. Once the review is complete, your file will be prioritized, and interviews will be granted based on your priority score and the date your file was completed. Please do not call the Admissions Office requesting special dates.

Early Decision Plan candidates will be notified on or before October 1st. Therefore, Early Decision Plan candidates must have interviews completed before Monday September 24. 2007.

We follow the Uniform Acceptance Policy of the AAMC for regular applicants. Candidates who have been interviewed will be presented to the Committee and decisions made, again by priority score. The first acceptances issued will be on October 15th. After the October 15th offers, the Committee will continue to review candidates, and we will make subsequent offers sometime around December 15th, February 1st, and again March 15th. Candidates are accepted based on their priority scores and the number of seats the Committee wishes to fill by that date.

We will not create the alternate list until we have reviewed all files and we have filled the class in March."

Is all mine says. And its all its said for weeks. Give me a sign VCU!

That's all I have too...for over a month now. 🙁

Did you guys get an email that says something like your app status at vcu has changed? I haven't gotten any emails since it was complete.

Does anyone know if VCU is a school that sends out mass rejections later in the season rather than having a sort of rolling rejection machine? It seems like everyone who has gotten an interview was complete for a few days to at most like 3 weeks, and I have been complete for way longer than that with no change or message at all. Just curious, but definitely keeping my lil fingers crossed for Richmond!

I don't think I've heard of anyone getting rejected from VCU yet, so they must send mass rejections later.

Great. That's probably why I've had to wait so long to hear anything. 🙁 (sorry, pre-med neuroticism setting in)
