I got acceptance letter from UIC today. I already been accepted at VCU where the study will start on January 3rd..what do you think guys? please advice..

Well you have to look at the pros and cons. VCU is starting 6 months earlier and the tuition is about $20,000 less than UIC, so those are the benefits. But, I don't really know VCU's reputation, and I don't want anyone to think I'm saying anything bad about the school.
It should be your personal preference. What would be best for you.

If you want to be exact it's technically 4 months.. haha.. I can't believe you wrote about the months. Did I get the tuition difference right.. or do you want to correct me on that too? 🙂
Congrats noradent. Can u kindly tell me how did u get the acceptance letter from Uic ? I mean was it an email or mail or a call?

VCU starts earlier becase they have a 15 week preparatory program (UIC's is 3 week long), so at the end they're pretty much the same. Moneywise if you already had to put down a fee for VCU I'd stay there, unless it is more conveniente for you to move to Chicago.
One other thing is that VCU has a smaller class what you could see as both an advantage or not. UIC has a great patient pool and a very solid program, and probably VCU might have the same...
My choice was UIC for obvious reasons: it was the best choice for me, it was my personal choice. Let us know what would be yours!

Both schools hv there own pros and cons bt uic hv biggest plus over vcu because of patient pool in my opinion....as u can imagine population of Chicago is over 3 million n Richmond is Nt even two hundred thousand.

Personally I have been both schools, waitlisted in UIC (though) but VCU impressed me a lot more. It reflects lot more technically advanced with a great education environment. If you have the opportunity to be in dental school with lesser money(VCU is cheaper than UIC, Richmond is cheaper than Chicago) but for 3 months longer time as a student then I would say thats the best part since you have more time to learn things that too on dentsim. VCU's preclinic is in dentsim which is the best part. Latest equipment would blend you perfectly in advanced field of dentistry here in America.VCU has chosen the most diverse group of students. It would be fun to on the beautiful VCU campus, moreover all other schools of VCU other than dentistry are in the same campus. Its big and beauty. Enjoy at VCU. Moreover Richmond is a beautiful place. Nearby Williamsburg has wonderful places to visit.

Nora, although we already discussed this 🙂 but here on SDN, I would still say VCU VCU VCU !!! Surely we have a nice environment in VCU, we were so happy during the bench test. It would be fun having you as a classmate 😛 Remember UIC initially waitlisted you (huh 😉 )but VCU sent you straight acceptance... See VCU sees the potential in you... hopefully i can convince..lol ... My post is biased !!!!
