what are some unique aspects of vcu dental curriculum?
Hi Scotty - Thanks for replying to my post, I didn't see your reply until now. I asked the question to prepare for my interview last Tuesday, but after going to the school, I can honestly say I fell in love with the program and really feel the camaraderie amongst students. I hope I'll be given the chance to attend VCU this fall!!
td4azklz - i actually interviewed on the 2/2 and i really loved vcu! I just hope I'll have the opportunity to study there. Dr. Healy said that our group would find out on 2/23i hope i get in!! and good luck to you as well!
Scotty - is your friend Kaine? Kane sp? I was speaking with her after the interview while waiting for my taxi. She's really awesome, and I'm so glad that she already has an acceptance this year. I hope to see you around the halls too!!
Starting clinical aspect right away is a unique one if I'm not mistaken. hey scotty!what are some unique aspects of vcu dental curriculum?

Hey Tooth...that is her! She's awesome...got to do some undergrad classes with her and her man and we all became good friends. Do you feel like your interview went well and who did you interview with?? Have a great night!
Scotty
MasterPain - I totally agree that vcu is unique in that the staff and faculty are very dedicated to bringing students to clinic asap! and that's really awesome because clinical experience is so important in becoming a skilled dentist
haha, what a small world! and I think overall my interview went pretty well, but I felt that some of my answers could have been stronger/more elaborate. I interviewed with Dr. Healy and Dr. Archer, who were both very nice and easy to talk to, but I just couldn't completely shake off my nervousness =T
I interviewed on the 26th as well. Who is this? I'm sure we met.

It's funny, I had Dr. Archer as well. Did he seem sort of quiet to you? Although he asked me a few questions, I got the impression that he has a very quiet personality.
Whats up dude?? How have you been? Are you in the cycle right now and if so how's it going? Also...how's the new addition to the fam???
Scotty
Thanks Scotty!
Hm, to be honest in answering your question, Dr. Archer was actually quite talkative with me. I'm from CA and he has some family in CA, so we talked about where he's visited. I had some endo work done and he's an endodontist, so we both agreed that if a root canal is needed, always go to a specialist. 🙂 As for actual interview questions, he just asked me how I got to this point in my life, and if I'm not admitted this year, what would I do to improve my application.
I think my interview with him ended about 5 minutes earlier than the 30 minutes, and yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about him being on the quieter side during your interview, as long as he got a good sense of who you are 🙂
Scotty, I'm doing great! The new addition, Liam, is healthy and getting quite porky if I may. He is 3 months starting to smile and trying to communicate. Yeah, I am in this cycle. VCU interviewed me in the middle of January and I haven't heard anthing back yet. The interviews went well (Svirsky and Tufekci) and I really got a good vibe. Both were very professional and friendly. A fella named Oscar was my student interviewer and was really informative and cool. How bout you and your family...any new ones on the way for you? You still making time to play?
