Just looking for a consensus on this. Does anyone find that categorizing practice VR passages by type (philosophy, economics, etc.) on which one is performing poorly, and then reading outside articles on the subjects helps improve score in the span of about 4 months or less?

You don't have time to read outside stuff. It would take forever to find articles that mimicked specific types of MCAT passages that you do the worst in, and they wouldn't have those 5-7 ambiguous, horrible questions at the end. Just use all of the AAMC verbal sections, EK 101, and any other MCAT practice exams to learn with.

You do have time if you start preparing for the MCAT your freshman year (or even with more than 6 months prior to testing) 🤣

Otherwise, I have to agree. Make use of all the practice material. Choose your strategy and go with it.
