Verbal Reasoning

Does anyone have a good technique of doing well on verbal reasoning?
i scored 11 and 10 on other subject, but my verbal is low-6 which i believe it's going to hurt my chance of getting into med school.
i plan to retake my mcat next april, but i have to figure out a way to lift up my verbal score.
your advice is greatly appreciated!
