Hi guys, I was wondering what's the best way to study for verbal. I have been getting anywhere from 5-8 on the verbal section. It's the hardest part of the test for me.

Any suggestions?

Don't spend a lot of time reading and analyzing the passage. Read it once and don't spend a lot of time trying to understand everything. I read my passages as fast as I can mouth the words. By mouthing the words, I can infer some sense of tone. If I read the passage silently, I tend to slow down and over-analyze it as if it was a scientific paper.

Read the questions very carefully and understand them and the answer choices very thoroughly before choosing your answer.

Learn to trust your first choice. It will be correct more often than second-guessing yourself will be.

Ditto to what enervate said. Also, utilize EK 101 Passages. Keep practicing, and don't give up!

EK101 and TPRH-VW are good for practice... Then you can get the AAMC verbal sef assessment so you can be familiar with the MCAT VR-type questions... Unfortunately, VR is arguablely the section one might not be able to see a significant improvement....

Does the post test analysis really help much at all? I guess my question is, I have no clue what to look for when I go over the questions again.
