So....I submitted my AMCAS on 6/10 at 10:15am yesterday.... and that's what it shows on my AMCAS the last time I checked last night before going to bed....and it was already at "Ready for Review"

I just checked my AMCAS right now...and it says that I submitted my application on 6/11 at 4:45 AM ET...wth is going on??

EDIT: I corrected my original post. Mixed up Pacific Time with ET.

Does it say "Under Review"? If so, calm down.

If not, calm down.

edit: I just noticed the very odd times you posted, 7:15 and 4:45...? what

Nope, it still says "Ready for Review".

Sorry. My mistake. I am from California, so I mixed up the Pacific Time and ET. Let me correct it.

Mine changed the submission time a couple of different times yesterday before I was verified....even after I was under review.

I wouldn't worry about it, it seems like the people who submitted in the first 5 minutes still haven't gotten verified, but many people are stating their times switched. Just wait it out, focus on secondaries, or anything else. It'll be okay.

You guys realize that as long as you're verified before AMCAS releases apps to schools at the end of June, your submission times really don't matter, right? Everyone just calm down. You will get verified and you will be among the earliest submissions (unless you were completely incompetent in following basic instructions). Now go drink some beer and get used to waiting.

Submitted within a minute of you and my "new" submission time is 6/11 @ 3:18pm. This is comical.

While it is very easy (and justified, to be honest) to say that this whole thread is pure neuroticism, the broader and more salient point is this:

THE AAMC IS AN OPAQUE MONOPOLY THAT MANIFESTS A NEAR COMPLETE INABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY .

Corollary: if the AAMC communicated its processes (and progress) more transparently and clearly, the overall level of worry would be markedly lower, and we'd have many fewer of these threads.

Who checks this stuff?

You get an e-mail every step of the way. Do you want the name and phone number of the worker checking your application, too? Maybe their home address?

Everyone needs to calm down.

Thought experiment: you are using internet banking and make a deposit of $3.01 at 9:00a. You get an email confirming that $2.01 of your deposit is available, and that the rest of your deposit will be released in a week (common with - albeit larger - deposits).

The next day, you check your web banking portal, and your deposit of $2.01 has a timestamp of 5:00p.

Are you worried about your bank's data integrity, even though you have gotten an "e-mail every step of the way"?

Again, my point is far broader than this very thin and narrow example of application timestamping. Monopolies are terrible because they have no reason NOT to be, and the AAMC is no exception.

Are you really complaining about the monopoly? Would you rather go back to the old system where you'd have to turn in transcripts, essays, etc to each school individually? AMCAS exists to make the process easier.

This is the worst kind of SDN neuroticism. You guys are freaking out about a timestamp on your primary when the timestamp is completely irrelevant. Being complete a few hours earlier will make absolutely no difference to your chances of getting into schools. if AMCAS suddenly decided that you hadn't submitted your transcripts or something, the you could start panicking. Your bank statement point doesn't help your case at all (The answer is no, that would not make me worried about my bank's data integrity). Just wait until you submit your secondaries and people who submitted after you get marked complete first. Will you start ranting about how medical schools have a monopoly on the application process? AAMC is a freaking glass box compared to most schools.

We're telling you to calm down because you're freaking out over nothing.

Doesn't the time submitted change when your application has been verified? That happened to me. I submitted at 9:31 yesterday and got verified at 9:57. And my submitted thing changed to 9:57 am.
