On the AMCAS log in page, it says :

"AMCAS is currently processing transcripts that were received on June 8, 2010. Submission of the 2011 application is now open."

Does the "processing transcripts" mean that they are verifying applicantions submitted on the 8th? If not, then what does it mean?

Log into AMCAS, and click the Details link. It will tell you the status of your application. If all your transcripts have been received, it will say that you are in line for verification by AMCAS (or something similar to that). Once your application has been verified, it will say that your application has been made available to the medical schools (again, paraphrasing).

It means, that if they received your transcript in the mail that day, they are currently entering it into the system and will update your account to say "Transcripts received".
