Hi all! I have a couple of PTs who are extremely unresponsive in their email, and I have been trying to reach them for the last month to get my observation hours verified. As long as I have the minimum requirement of verified hours for each school, will it look bad to have the hours from these unresponsive therapists remain unverified in my application?

It would decrease the amount of experience schools believe that you have compared to other applicants. Call the clinic, go to the clinic in person, etc., but do what you need to in order to get the hours verified.

I've been dealing with the same issue. I got 97 hours working as a physical therapy aide and the PT is super unresponsive. She retired and closed her clinic, so there's no going to see her in person. I've texted and called, and she's been really wishy washy. At this point, I've reached out to another clinic and will be starting shadowing there to make up some of those hours. If your PT still works at a clinic, I would recommend showing up there in person with your hours logged on a paper so all they have to do is sign it, which really should be no hassle for them. You gotta do what you gotta do at the end of the day.

Hello! You definitely want your hours verified because it adds a layer of authentication even if you exceed the number of hours the school requires. If a school sees that some of your hours are verified and others are not, then they may question you over something silly like this. To be safe, I would keep trying to get those hours verified by continuously calling, going in person, etc.

Hope that helped!
