Vermont: asking for interview at same time as DMS interview?

Hello all,

Does anyone have experience asking UVM for an interview b/c you'll be in the area to interview for another school?

What days does UVM interview? ANyone know how far in advance the school has scheduled at this point?

How does this email sound?...

Dear Admissions Committee:

I am writing to express my continuing interest in the University of Vermont College of Medicine. In early February, I will be traveling to New Hampshire to interview at DMS, and was hoping to schedule any interview with your school I might receive at the same time. To that end, I am writing with the hope that you will review my application with this in mind. Thank you for your consideration.

The email sounds OK, but you might consider calling instead. I know they don't especially want calls because of the their high applicant volume, but I think in this case it makes sense.

I almost had the same situation: I had a Vermont invite, but decided not to go. So I put my withdrawal in the outgoing mail. That day, guess what the mail carrier dropped off while picking up my Vermont withdrawal? Yup, a DMS invite. Oh well.

vermont only interviews on tuesdays and thursdays

I was thinking about doing the same thing... but it won't work out because both schools interview only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

So, since you can't have two interviews in one day, the only way to do it is to stay in the area for a week, which is not possible for me! Let's say you have your DMS interview on a thursday, then you would have to stay in the area until the next tuesday to interview in Vermont.

Too bad... 🙁

Yea, I agree. The T/Th thing makes it hard. Maybe I'll just wait it out...

I think its better to leave out where else you are interviewing at in your email. Just tell them you will be in the area during that time. I have had luck doing this, but not at UVM. Good luck.
