Stats:
COMLEX: mid to low 600's
USMLE: 230's
Sigma Sigma Phi (if that matters)?
I was wondering if anyone had any input into how I should proceed with setting up elective rotations based on my board scores. I really have become disillusioned with the AOA and am wary to do a DO residency with the rumors of DO residents not being able to apply for MD fellowships in the future. I am especially disappointed in the recent decision to not merge (and them siting keeping the COMLEX as one of the key reasons for not merging in that email was equal parts comical and insulting). Anyway, I was wondering what anyone out there may know about my chances (based on being a DO and my scores alone) of getting a EM, IM, OB residency at a good allopathic institution out west (University of Colorado, University of Washington, University of Oregon ect. . . ) Is that totally unrealistic given my USMLE is not spectacular. On the other hand if I went the DO route I would most likely go for a more competitive spot like ortho. Just kind of feel like I don't know how to go about planning for my audition rotations. I don't want to pursue something that is unrealistic but I dont want to not chase something and wish I had. Any advice would be welcomed.
