I applied to 12 osteopathic schools, but three of them ( TUCOM, CCOM, and KCUMB-COM) require that I have at least a C grade for all the pre-med requirement classes. However, I got a D+ in Orgo I, and a B+ in Orgo II, so does that mean I would have to take Orgo I again to qualify for these schools, or does the fact that I got a B+ in Orgo II make it okay?

My stats are 3.45 GPA, 3.2 Science, and a 28M on the MCATS, and I went to a great undergrad (although I don't think that matters).

Please if someone can help with my question, it would me greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. 😀

You're going to have to take it again, or maybe take a proficiency exam in it or something...but you *will* have to get that grade up to a C somehow. One of my friends who's going to CCOM this August had a C- in Organic I, and they still made her repeat the class. My bet is that it's a hell of a lot easier the second time around, though.

Otherwise, your numbers look pretty decent for osteopathic schools...plus your science GPA will improve once you retake, so you should be in good shape.

Good luck to you.

P.S. I had a great undergrad too...but you're right, it doesn't matter 😛

Will definitely have to retake, b/c it was taken separately. This happened to me, as well. I got a D+ in Chem 11, but an A in the lab, but since it was listed as all one class I had to repeat both. Luckily, I got an A again (6 years later) and a B- in the class. Good luck! You can take it over the summer, just mark it on your app.

Does this only apply to the three schools I listed, because I looked into the other schools I applied to and they didn't say anything about requiring at least a C. The other 10 schools I applied to are:

Nova, UMDNJ, LECOM - Bran, NYCOM, DUCOM, PCOM, UNECOM, Pacific and AZCOM

If I am mistaken, and one of these schools does have that policy (needing at least a C), can someone please let me know (maybe people that went to these schools). I am going to call the admissions for UMDNJ, Pacific, NYCOM, and PCOM as they are my top choices, but I would still love to hear what you all have to saw. Again thanks in advance. 😍

Oh btw, my breakdown for the MCATs were V:9 P:10 B:9 (but that doesn't matter right).

Checking their website...I don't see anything that specifically explains grades...just GPA. But I would call them to make sure.
Just know that DMU was extremely competitive this year so I would call just to make sure and APPLY EARLY!! Like yesterday. Good luck. 👍
